Do you hear what I hear? I hope not.

My excitement about Christmas expressed in a previous post has taken a bit of a hit.

Today, on 99.1 FM here in H-Town, I heard The Christmas Shoes by Newsong. Actually, I only heard the last two lines of the chorus as the song faded out. But that was more than enough to bring me down.

If I hear Happy Birthday Jesus any time soon, I may just have to shut off all radio stations between now and December 26.

Yes, the messages are sweet and well-intended. But, cheezy Christmas stuff is the worst. The worst, I tell ya. The worst!

Steven...I agree. While wishing there was an ebola-infested monkey nearby (aka shopping), I was lulled by the sweet sweet sounds of carols performed by the likes of The Four Tops, Mariah Carey, and...wait for it...Clay Aiken. Joy to the world...the cheese is here.

Whenever I talk about not liking KSBJ playing holiday music all month those are the 2 songs I reference. The first time I hear them I might vomit.

Lest there be any confusion, CHristmas Shoes and Happy Birthday, Jesus make me vurp.

When I read the words "The Christmas Shoes" in your post, an involuntary "oh no" slipped out of my mouth. I hadn't even finished reading your entry, the damage was already done.

Those two songs are a good way to be reminded that even bad, bad things can happen during the beautiful Christmas season.

When I tried to access your Christmas Shoes link, all I got to see was a message telling me I'd been reported to my IT department for trying to access suspected offensive material. I'm not sure if that is a testament to the quality of the song, or if it just says Steven is dirty.
